I’ve been thinking a fair bit about this word contraction since Mills’ discussion. Based on the comments it seems that Ireland is the only country in which it’s used.

That and whatever country my six-year-old lives in. It makes perfect sense to me so I see no need to correct it. “Y’all” is part of the vernacular here, covering a gap in the English language as spoken in the rest of the country; no reason not to use another useful contraction here.
